Job Description

Our client, a mission driven real estate firm in Bethesda, MD, is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to help lead its accounting department. The accounting manager will manage a team of five and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the central accounting department to include all general accounting functions.

Responsibilities

• Accounting functions including property accounting, bond/fund accounting and accounting operations
• Oversee the agency audit
• Plan, organize and direct the preparation of all financial statements
• Design and implement a cash management system
• Review, approve or correct financial records produced from Yardi
• Manage staff, conduct performance reviews

Qualifications

• Seven years of accounting experience required
• Two years of experience on a managerial role required
• Real Estate industry experience desired
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, governmental accounting, grant, cost accounting, bonds
