Company Description

The NY Automotive Experience Center - New York Auto-Museum is a proposed 150,000 -200,000+ square-foot Manhattan location designed as a modern circa 2025-2026 facility. With a rooftop patio and partial glassed floors, visitors will be able to see above and beneath many of the vehicles on display. The museum aims to change the traditional view of an Automotive Museum by offering the opportunity to sit in up to 50 different historical vehicles.

Role Description

This is a remote role for a Board of Directors at the New York Auto Museum (4-6 HOURS PER MONTH). The role is based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The Board of Directors will be responsible for providing strategic directions, governance, and oversight of the Museum.

Qualifications

  • Leadership, Strategy, and Governance skills
  • Financial acumen and Budgeting skills
  • Experience in the automotive industry or museum management
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of fundraising and community engagement
  • Ability to work collaboratively and remotely
  • Experience in non-profit organizations or cultural institutions is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, advanced degree preferred
  • Nonprofit experience a asset
  • Fundraising experience an asset
  • Sponsorship development and Entertainment experience desired
  • Must be an automotive fanatic. 
  • Located in New York City and asset, but not required
  • Automotive or museum experience a benefit
