Production Operator

Salem, OR 97302

5AM to 4:30PM Monday-Friday.

12 Months Contract Possibility of Extension Or Conversion

Pay rate : $21/hr

Shift is variable and will change but currently we are only running 1 shift, from 5AM to 4:30PM Monday-Friday. Eventually will be looking for volunteers to move to a second shift. This comes with a small shift differential, $1.50/hr.

The Production Operator ensures the efficient and safe operation of production equipment, adhering to established procedures and safety guidelines. This role is vital in maintaining product quality, meeting production targets, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

Production Operations:

  • Operate and maintain production machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure optimal performance and quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure products meet specified standards.
  • Document production activities, including batch records and inventory levels.
  • Report any defects or deviations from quality standards to supervisors.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Participate in safety training and contribute to hazard identification and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with team members to achieve production targets and resolve operational issues.
  • Assist in training new operators and provide support to colleagues as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding production status and concerns.

Housekeeping and Maintenance:

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Assist in the setup and changeover of production lines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the production process.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is advantageous.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot production machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
